Today, the day before I return to full-time employment, Calista has taken her first real steps. She walked a few steps towards Peter cos he was holding an orange..who was so surprised to see her take her first unaided steps that he exclaimed in surprise, called me and caused her to fall into his arms.
Thus began the “shuttle walk”. She walked to-and-fro between Peter and me, collapsing into our arms with glee and laughter as we applauded her achievement.
14 months and 4 days.
I am grateful to witness her first steps just before going back to work.
